TIPS FOR CHOOSING A SCHOOL BAG
HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SCHOOL BAG?
It's almost time to go back to school! When going to school a school bag or backpack is in daily use and is therefore very important.
Every day the school bag helps children to carry heavy textbooks and study materials from home to school and back home.
Here are some guidelines how to find the right school bag:
SIZE
The school bag is meant to be suitable for going to school for the next few years or even for a longer period of time. Although many school bags are of high quality and can be worn after several school years, you should not choose a school bag that is too big. Too big a school bag can be difficult and uncomfortable for a child to carry. The school bag should fit the length and size of the child.
A backpack suitable for carrying school supplies should extend from the height of the child's shoulders to the sacrum, and the bag should not be wider than the child's body. The school bag itself should weigh as little as possible (preferably less than 1 kilogram). In addition, it should be taken into account that the school bag can hold A4 textbooks, school books and drawing pads.
ERGONOMICS
When choosing a school bag, make sure that the school bag has an ergonomic design. The shoulder straps and the back of the school bag should be comfortable and sufficiently supported to ensure the correct back position. Shoulder straps should be wide, padded and adjustable. It is important to check the school bag shoulder straps at the beginning of each school year and adjust them if the child has grown in the meantime. The ergonomically shaped and padded backrest makes carrying the school bag more comfortable. The chest and bow strap reduces the back and forth movement of the school bag when running (fx. to the school bus) and provide a better back support.
